Car parking in Brighton?

FizzyPink · 11/08/2020 21:42

Due to stay in Brighton from tomorrow and Sunday and it hadn’t occurred to me that the hotel wouldn’t have its own car park.
Just looked at the NCP nearby and it’s £32 per 24 hours!

Is there anywhere we can park more cheaply in the area? We’re staying on the seafront near the BA360i

It’s our first ever UK staycation and after looking at the weather for the rest of the week and now this, I’m very quickly starting to go off them!

Oh gosh. We got caught out with this last weekend! The place was absolutely heaving and parking was full everywhere. Ended up in the NCP one.

The sign at the entrance said it was cheaper if you used their app, so we took a ticket and then downloaded the app when we got inside the car park.

When we left it became apparent that the app didn’t work - must have needed to scan in with it rather than take a ticket. Absolute bloody rip off.

Good luck finding a better one! I wish we’d looked at park and ride from outside of town tbh, not sure is that is running at the moment, but if it is, that would be a much better option.

Could you park at one of the stations before Brighton on the A23 and catch the train in? Look at prices for:

Three Bridges
Haywards Heath
Burgess Hill
Hassocks

Airport parking may even be cheaper and catch the train from Gatwick?

On the back streets of Hove you can get 11hrs on a meter for £4. Try around Holland Road (different sides of the road have different lengths of stay) You can then either walk down to the hotel along the seafront or take a bus down western road. I think that you can now pay with an app so can update from afar as well.

That’s a brilliant idea @Mixingitall thank you! Just checked and Three Bridges is only £28.70 for the time we need so that would be ideal. Just need to check DP is happy to leave the car for that long but I’m sure it’ll be fine

Even better Burgess Hill is only £18! Fingers crossed we can get a space

Another option is to see if you can get parking on justpark or similar... park on someone in Brighton's driveway...

Closer to Brighton, there is plenty of free street parking in Shoreham by Sea, which is a quick train ride to Brighton. Have a lovely time Smile

I would rather park in Haywards Heath or Three Bridges. Burgess Hill, although safe, I’m not sure will have cctv. HH station car park is a multi storey and new.

I have friends who live in Brighton and typically you would walk 40 minutes to find a free unrestricted parking space and drive around for an hour to find one.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Southover and around Queens Park used to be doable and very central. What it is like now I don't know.
