Maternity Leave & SMP

Can someone explain this to me - my SMP ends on Sunday 23rd August - if I return to work / end maternity leave part way through the w/c 17th August, will I still get paid the weekly SMP for that week or will it be pro rata? I have asked our HR department and they aren't giving a straight answer?

I want to know if it's worth saving a few days holiday if I will get SMP in full for that week!

So if I am paid SMP until the Sunday and ended mat leave on say the Wednesday, I would receive three days worth of SMP - around £65 rather than the full weekly rate of £151 (assume it's over 7 days)

Just I cannot find anywhere that says it's pro rata, it's always given as the weekly amount?
