anonymous letter

my friend has received an anonymous letter with spurious concerns about her children.

SS have called ( having also received a similar letter)and are happy it is not true.
My friend wants to know of the police can fingerprint the letter or find out some other way who sent it?
I said its unlikely they will waste police resources on one letter - Am i correct in thinking that the police wont be interested?

Unlikely police will be interested

Was the letter handposter or stamped? If by hand, might be worth investing in a video doorbell

spence246 · 09/08/2020 23:31

it was sent by post and typed so no handwriting analysis either Smile

I imagine the police have more pressing things to do!

I'd ring them and log it anyway, it's a malicious a t and if it keeps happening they will look into it

You're right.

The police rarely investigate much more serious issues nowadays due to lack of staff and resources.
