Help! Google Keep in a Scandinavian language?

Dilbertian · 09/08/2020 22:33

Somehow I have changed the settings of Google Keep on my iPhone to another language. I'm guessing it's a Scandinavian language. Please can someone tell me how to change it back to English!

Please can someone help Sad

I've tried Googling, and can only find info about changing the language for your entire google account. I know I haven't done this - it was some sort of accidental change that happened while fiddling about in my pocket.

No idea what google keep is?

Dilbertian · 16/08/2020 09:23

It's a lists app. I use it mostly for shopping lists. My entries remain in English, it's all the app's own info and labelling that has changed.

Apparently it changes language randomly sometimes. Other people have googled this! Can you go on another device and follow these instructions?

I have some basic Swedish and Danish knowledge, can you screenshot the menu screen OP? No promises in case I can't understand it but happy to have a look to see if I can spot language settings or similar.

BearSoFair · 16/08/2020 10:37

If it's Danish you'll want to look for 'sprog', Swedish would be 'sprak' (I think) for 'language' in the settings.

Ringsender2 · 16/08/2020 10:49

On my android, it's this:

Click three vertical dots in top right
On list, "Settings" (second to bottom on list)
Scroll down, fourth from bottom is "Languages" (it might be 3rd from bottom on other people's menus)

Ringsender2 · 16/08/2020 10:51

Ah, apologies,I thought it was google in general. I changed mine to Tagalog which was challenging!

Dilbertian · 16/08/2020 12:13

I've taken some screen shots. This is the 'home' screen, and what I see when I touch the 3 lines at top left:

Looks like Danish to me.

Dilbertian · 16/08/2020 12:16

Then when I go into a list. The image with 'tag billede' is what I see when I touch the plus in a box at bottom left. The image with 'slet' is what I see when I touch the three dots at bottom right.

That is Danish. Press on "indstilinger" that is settings.

mermaidbutmytailfelloff · 16/08/2020 12:18

what happens when you go into the help screen? (Hjaelp)

MrsMop1964 · 16/08/2020 12:23

did you sort it? I'd try clicking on 'indtstillinger?
that's the settings

WaffleCash · 16/08/2020 12:25

You can't change the language for Google keep in isolation from the rest of your Google account. These are the only options in settings (indstillinger)

lazylinguist · 16/08/2020 12:31

Presumably you go into 'intillinger', which is obviously 'settings' and look for the Danish word 'sprog', which means 'language',then hopefully you'll be able to select 'Engelsk'.

Dilbertian · 16/08/2020 12:34

But nothing has changed in Google Sheets:

If you go into your Google account, what languages are listed?

WaffleCash · 16/08/2020 12:38

Look in indstillinger for google-appen ( settings for google apps)

WaffleCash · 16/08/2020 12:42

Ah, newer iPhones might let you set app language separately, see here
