Can anyone help me quickly regarding thrush treatment?

My dr prescribed me fluconazole for thrush, which I took over a week ago. Today I feel like the thrush is back!
I was thinking of popping to the chemist to buy another over the counter, does anyone know if it’s safe to take another one?

And will the pharmacist allow me to buy two so my partner can take one? I can only think he may have passed it back to me... even though he’s got no symptoms.

You can take another- I assume it’s the oral tablet?

You might want to consider the pessary treatment instead, it’s messier but I always found it more effective. The tablets never worked for me.

Chemist will ask you if you've taken it in last 6 or 3 months, cant remember which but say no just to be sure they give it to you.

You can get a pack with the pessary and tablet in together I think.

Thanks both. I used the pessary and cream to begin with but that didn’t clear it so dr prescribed me the oral pill which seemed to do the trick, until now 🤨
I’ve never had it before so I’ve no clue about it!

Are you sure you haven’t ping ponged into bacterial vaginosis from the thrush? Maybe ask for a swab?

I’m not sure tbh 🤔 from what I’ve read, I don’t think it’s bv. There’s certainly no smell.
I’ve just got exactly the same symptoms I had last time. Not sure whether it should’ve flared up again this quickly though, it’s only been about 10 days since I took the oral pill. I was fine after taking it though, thought it had cleared it up.

you both should get treated for thrush as he can keep reinfecting you.
