Redundancy/notice period

If you are made redundant (or take voluntary redundancy) do you get the redundancy pay as well as your notice period pay? So you work your notice period? Or do most companies pay the redundancy in lieu of your notice period?! Not in this position yet but expect it may be coming. Or is it different in all companies?!

You should get both, they can make you work your notice though.

Yeah that's correct. I got my notice plus one week's pay for every year I worked there plus any holiday I was owed

It's upto you to negotiate whether you work your negotiation period.

When I've made staff redundant it's literally been a case of confirmation, requesting they change their ooh messages and goodbye. They take the notice period as gardening leave in effect.
