Neighbours having another crazy party

Well I say another but it's the second one. They moved in just before lockdown and since restrictions have been eased have had lots of friends over. None of my business but the last party they had went on until about 4am and was LOUD. I could hear individual conversation from the house and music blaring from the back garden. We live in the house opposite theirs.

Currently they are singing "like a prayer" full blast on a karaoke machine.

Give me strength.

Last time i didn't mind as I can understand why people may have needed/wanted to let off steam after lockdown but this is a residential/family/elderly neighbourhood and it's just a bit much. Kind of worried this is their norm! And they have young kids- don't know if they're there though.

Just posting for a moan and creative vengeance ideas really!

Our neighbours got a bit lairy last Friday night - only three adults and a dog but they decided to keep asking Alexa to play a different song every 30 seconds and chat extremely loudly all evening (in an otherwise naice quiet area.) So DH got our portable speaker, placed it next to their fence and blasted a bit of Jane McDonald's greatest hits. They soon went indoors.

Not yet- I'm going to put on some white noise and see if that helps- once it's past midnight then I may go over- like a reverse Cinderella deal

I live with my daughter and her family. She's having a party as we speak . I have escaped and luckily for the neighbours the party has come indoors. I'm antisocial so have come up to bed . They usually play lots of 80s music , most of which I don't like but tonight it's lots of Oasis which I love . I'll not try to get to sleep I'll just read my kindle and wait for them all to go home Smile

Same here. I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't so hot plus they're singing drowns out the tv. Just hoping they'll stop at midnight so the sound doesn't come through my open bedroom window. Theyretactually louder than when their kids had a party. I was on the phone to someone who had the same prob and we could hardly hear each other! I'll be Be glad for the thunderstorms!

Ignore my terrible grammar using 'they're' instead of their!

I’m currently listening to a bad karaoke version of REM’s Losing My Religion from the street party that startEd at 7 and will run till 3am or so and has done on average very 2-3 weeks of since the start of lockdown under the guise of community bingo.

This has become such a problem amongst people I know. Has corona made most people suddenly selfish and inconsiderate? I’ve just got home from a BBQ where the level of music in the neighbours garden was insane, apparently they do this about 4 times a week! My neighbours have also become really selfish, the once-in-a-while is fine, when it’s every few days it’s pretty horrendous.

FeetZelet · 08/08/2020 23:56

I believe it has exposed inconsiderate people and facilitated their behaviours as they’re ‘making the most of the circumstances’ or ‘putting their best foot forward’. Not a notion for the young families or early shift workers.

Going on here too in the house right behind my open window. Currently it seems to be a group of women singing loudly in the garden.

My neighbours too have become really, really loud with music, shouting, shrieking (and porn star sex noises which we have never heard in the years we have been neighbours! ) etc very often since lockdown. When I was wfh it was constant very loud banging music from first thing Monday morning all the way through to Sunday night. Thankfully I'm now back in the office.

Is it a thing?! Why are there so many selfish people about?

They were never like this before lockdown so I don't understand what's changed after years of being neighbours.

ittooshallpass · 09/08/2020 00:07

My new NDN has music on all day every day and has people round every time the sun comes out, all afternoon and late into the night. Lying in bed now listening to screeching, swearing and raucous laughter. It's just awful. I've had a really tough week and desperately need some sleep. It's too hot to close windows. Totally fed up with it. The only time there's any peace is when she's not at home.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 09/08/2020 00:17

@TheMurk pretty sure you live in my street!

SuperPixie247 · 09/08/2020 02:03

Is anyone else still awake due to their selfish twat neighbours? My DS is here so I can't put my ear plugs in and their dog hasn't stopped barking for god knows how long Angry

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 09/08/2020 02:29

People like this are so, so fucking selfish.

confusedandeatingcheese · 09/08/2020 07:26

I managed to get to sleep by playing white noise/thunderstorm sounds through my phone right next to my head... I think they were still out after 1am when my DH came to bed.

I'm wondering it's because people are staying in but behaving like they're still on a night out?

Anyway I'm debating whether to blast out some opera this AM, or grunge.
