Sudden large breast lump. Any reassurance?

Looking for similar stories. I'm 47 & have had a sudden hard breast 'mass' come up within a weekShock Have never had a breast lump before & been slightly startled at the size & speed it arrived.

GP has measured it at 8cm & I'm on the (THREE!) week wait referral to Breast Clinic. Obviously trying not to panic, but I have lots of autoimmune stuff going on & health is very very poor anyway.

Ah, thanks girls. As I never told anyone, I've had no-one to tell the news Grin

Thank you so much @EatsShootsAndRuns Flowers

It HAS been a long wait hasn't it?! Hope you're managing to keep busy. Keeping my fingers crossed for a very positive Monday morning for you x

For such a potentially worrying subject this thread has been so heartwarming. I actually think it would encourage more women to get checked out when they find something new without becoming overwhelmed!

Residentdove2020 · 18/08/2020 18:54

Thanks CandyApples217 that's what I was hoping.

I must admit the worrying waiting was probably worse than the clinic experience. It helps that I could return with a positive outcome.

If it helps people feel even more positive (I was on the thread earlier), I had my appointment at the breast clinic last week and was also given the all-clear! I had my first mammogram, though, which was a weird experience and required all sorts of contortions I didn't know I could do Grin

Yes, mammograms feel a bit weird but are so worth it!

Residentdove2020 · 25/08/2020 14:44

Hey * @mackerella,* so pleased to hear you were given the all clear too!

It was also my first mammogram. Hope my health will be better for the next one, it was really painful for me and I hurt my neck trying to stay in position around the machine Confused I realise I'm unique though.
