Calf Strain or DVT?!

Mummypig2020 · 08/08/2020 16:20

Having major anxiety. I woke up this morning with a sharp pain in my left calf. I struggled to walk properly as I can’t tiptoe really. It’s quite sore and painful 😩 pointing my toes up and down causing my calf to hurt. It feels tight and bruised.

I’m feeling abit panicky. I can’t really go a&e or anywhere as I’m home alone with 3dc.

Worried :(

cramp in the night?

Jargo · 08/08/2020 16:27

You need to get it checked out, particularly if you are at higher risk for DVT.

You need to organise childcare or take them to A and E with you and ask someone to pick them up from there.

Is it hot or swollen?

Why don’t you just call 111

No it’s not hot or swollen. I do have Lipoedema so my legs are big anyway.

OP you've most likely had cramp in the night. Does Lipoedema give you more of a risk? (sorry, I don't know much about it).

Mummypig2020 · 08/08/2020 17:35

Not massively but it can cause your veins to be more squished :(

You might have an infected vein. I had that a couple of years ago and it was very painful. But you need to get checked out

murasaki · 08/08/2020 18:54

I'd get it checked. Mine turned out to be 3 clots. Now on blood thinners forthe foreseeable. Fun times. Call your GP on Monday. I had a phonen chat, they called me in for a face to face, and packed me off to hospital with a letter.
