A girl turning 8 and a boy turning 10? Something smallish, £6-12 each kind of thing.

Lidl is currently doing some homeschooling books, so maybe some of those alongside with paper and pens and some sweeties?

You should be able to get this all from there.

There's another active thread right now where a mum is upset because her DD is being bullied out of liking dinosaurs.

There's no need to get the girl stupid scented pens or cupcakes or the boy stereotypical boy stuff.

The idea of a rubix cube or water bombs for both sexes is good, science kits, dressing up for the younger child, books about the natural world, a globe, lego, science kits, active toys, swingball, marbles, dolls and any other thousands of possibilities that aren't pink or army print crap.

Nerf guns for both of them.

Chimchimcharoo · 08/08/2020 15:51

Lego? Doodle/drawing book

zdjg · 08/08/2020 15:53

Lego, nerf gun, water gun, or a voucher? Kids like choosing bits for themselves as they get a little older I think xx

Lockdowners · 08/08/2020 15:53

A water gun each. Or slime but the parents might hate you.

Dobble? Best game ever. They can play it together.

How about some water balloons and a pump (assuming they have a garden)
