Sexist BA!

Omg Ive just got a flight reminder email from BA. Addressed to my husband.

I booked the flight on my BA account. My credit card. I'm the lead booker.

So why the hell do they pick the male traveller to address the automatic emails to?

Oh I'm so cross.

You can be assured not because there is absolutely no reason for them to have coded this

I think it's fairer to say there is absolutely no incentive for them to fix any coding that leads to this.

I've pointed out similar issues with software (as a software engineer) only to be told not to spend any time on it. Like changes for accessibility.

The email is obviously an automated one. It has been set up to be sent to the male passenger.

It needs recoded.

I've realised this week they must do this alphabetically - group of four women on a trip, I'm the lead passenger, but randomly email was addressed to one of the others.

Whitney that fact makes me happy to know. Phew.
Still annoying though. Should be the lead passenger it's addressed to.

Regularly go away with this group and have noted it before but not worked out why. Always the same name they choose, only struck me today why it would be.

No idea for the reason behind this, I've never noticed it, but if it's code any change/fix will come at a cost and in the current climate expenditure probably won't be approved.

As for the earlier comments about suing over this, any legal costs/expenses the company incurs won't be recovered out of Willie Walsh's or Alex Cruz's pay check, they'd be recovered by making adding X number of pilots or cabin crew to any further rounds of redundancy.

Noone has talked about suing.
Don't know what you are on about.
