What gin are you drinking?

I’m on Whitley Neill raspberry. I’m struggling for new flavours at the moment, I’ve decided I don’t like orange or lemon ones. I’m worried I won’t like gooseberry for instance. I am waiting for my local lidl to get the new Cocacaba flavour one, which I assume will be like Malibu.
What’s everyone else on?

I've just finished a bottle of blood orange which was nice (I know you don't like orange but I thought it was lovely!), my favourite is the Parma violet from Aldi.

Edinburgh rhubarb and ginger or a classic brockmans. With slim line tonic and some
Berries. Obviously not at this hour (I wish)

Flamingolingo · 08/08/2020 07:39

Tarquins, preferably with elderflower tonic

Silent Pool, with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic.

thisisbobbins · 08/08/2020 07:45

My favourites are Hendricks and Tanqueray Sevilla. I've got a beefeater blood orange at the moment which was on sale and is lovely.

I had a chapel down pinot noir gin at lunch the other day, it was lovely.

skankingpiglet · 08/08/2020 07:47

The gooseberry gin is delicious. It is quite sweet, which I usually don't like, but it's well-balanced with the zing.
The Rhubarb and Ginger one is nice too with a gentle warmth from the ginger. I didn't like the Quince one at all.

I currently only have Martin Miller in the cupboard, but also really like Hendricks, Bloom, Brockmans, Ninth Wave, and the pink/purple Campfire gin.

We tend to buy the local gin of wherever we are staying. My favourites are one from near Inverness called Gordon’s Castle (can be found on Amazon too) And Oban Bay Gin.

OBG can only be found in Oban, but we like it so much I’ve just booked us in to stay near Oban so I can get some more...It really is that nice, or I think so!

claracluck78 · 08/08/2020 07:58

I've got about 30 bottles on the go as I hate to finish a bottle! Current favourites are HMS Spirits Mary Rose gin (I do finish and replace this one often!) and I second the Tanquaray Sevilla. I also have some other orange based gins and they are def a hit this summer.

Ruth2009 · 08/08/2020 08:03

The gooseberry gin is really nice, I came on to recommend it, I'm onto my second bottle Blush
I'm not a massive fan of the strongly flavoured gins or liquor gins.
Also brockmans is lovely, quite a subtle fresh fruity flavour

brightbluegentian · 08/08/2020 08:07

Loving Cotswold gin at the moment

Thisdressneedspockets · 08/08/2020 08:12

I'm not generally a fan of flavoured gins but Bloom passion fruit gin is lovely.
I also had a delicious quince gin - I think that was Whitley Neil.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 08/08/2020 08:13

I’m alternating between sipsmith lemon drizzle and beef eater blood orange at the moment

The best bottle I have had by far was direct from the distillery at Jura. £80 bottle but DH got given it whilst working over there! He’s been told to get back over there soon Grin

Zhx3 · 08/08/2020 08:20

Gin Mare with Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic was very nice at the weekend.

I also like Hendrick's and Bombay Sapphire.

I discovered Badachro Gin from the Highlands this year. It's delicious, tastes really fresh.

Sexnotgender · 08/08/2020 08:20

Tanqueray Sevilla and Rangpur are fantastic.

Hated Malfy’s orange, definitely DONT recommend it.

30not13 · 08/08/2020 08:24

Gordon Castle and Red Door which are both local ones to me.
I don't often like flavoured gins. Prefer Bombay Sapphire, Sipsmith.

AhBallix · 08/08/2020 08:34

Our local gin is called Feckin. I haven't tried it yet, but just wanted to say the nameGrin.

AhBallix · 08/08/2020 08:35

Not an advert by the way. I'm just very childish!

ArtyFartyQueen · 08/08/2020 08:41

My number one gin is Chase’s Grapefruit and Pomelo - it smells amazing! They often sell it in pubs so worth trying it for sure!

mamaoffourdc · 08/08/2020 08:53

Black robin gin

kazza446 · 08/08/2020 09:03

Whitley Neil rhubarb and ginger mixed with lemon, elderflower cordial and tonic is my favourite at the moment. although any gin will do me at the moment

Afonavon · 08/08/2020 09:29

After a year of gin club membership, and therefore a gin cupboard full of different gins to those in the supermarket shelves. I have settled on my two favourite combinations:

Gordons (just the regular basic gin) & Fevertree regular tonic

Bombay Saphire & Fevertree Mediterranean tonic

The Gordons always surprises me as to how lovely it is. The Bombay Saphire was my first G&T and I have a soft spot for it.

I have tried so many gins, often seduced by the gorgeous bottle design. Nowadays (Pre lockdown) I try out different gins when in pubs and have discovered a few nice ones there.

MrsMime · 08/08/2020 09:44

Old Tom.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 08/08/2020 09:57

Gordons lemon or peach right now, love them especially since i got one delivered with the security cap still on and delivery man said he would refund and return or refund and leave itwith me to try and get the top off ( as if thats a choice 😂) took me about a minute with a long handled screwdriver 🍸mmmm free gin

Algebraicyourleg · 08/08/2020 10:12

@30not13: Gordon Castle is brilliant, I have Red Door too but I prefer Gordon Castle.

KenAdams · 08/08/2020 10:12

Whitley Neil violet with lemonade. I can't stand Parma Violets but I don't think the gin tastes like that.
