Weren’t some of the outfits in Friends really odd?

This has been my lockdown binge watching. Struck me how odd some of the fashions were . For example :
One character dressed in clothes suitable for an entirely different season ( eg in a jumper when it’s supposed to be. hot)
Rachel frequently over dressed for the scene. Yes she’s supposed to be in fashion but that doesn’t mean she’d glam up all the time. Similarly Phoebes style is quirky but you can hardly tell when she’s supposed to be dressed up.
Monica wears an awful lot of brown..
Joey has terrible dress sense for someone whose supposed to be hot

There are just some episodes where you wonder what the wardrobe assistant was thinking..

I actually loved a lot of their clothes especially in the later seasons! Besides the weird leather strap jumper of Rachel's!

Rachel was wearing an odd outfit for flying in the 'I got off the plane' episode. I actually liked it except for the no doubt very expensive boots but which looked to me like wellies.

Rachel’s outfit for Ross & emily’s Wedding was odd too. She was wearing tracksuit bottoms! I know she hadn’t actually planned to attend the wedding, she was hoping to stop it but it just looked so strange seeing her sitting there in trackies! Particularly when rachel never wore trackies any other time. She was always very polished and co ordinated in her outfits.

The unseasonal dressing is a thing. In the very last episode, as they all leave the apartment, Rachel is just wearing a little strappy vest top but Monica has a denim jacket on indoors! What's the temperature supposed to be?

@Nicknacky can you remember what the stylist programme was on? I'd be interested to watch that.

Courtney cox was pregnant in the last episode so her outfits were covering her bump. She had jackets and scarves on a lot.

ButteryPuffin On thinking further i think it was a short programme I watched on FB (you know in the “watch” section when things that might interest you appear)? it was only about 8 mins long.

When I get a chance I will try find it.
