I'm red haired, pale and slightly overweight.

Today I shall be sitting in front of a fan with the curtains drawn 😂

Me! I am menopausal too and I cannot do hot days. Luckily I am on holiday atm and can laze about today.

worldweary45 · 07/08/2020 10:47

Meeeee

I'm a fainter

It never ends well if I get too hot

OrlandoInTheWilderness · 07/08/2020 10:47

Me! I'm red haired, pale and bloody overweight! I feel your pain.

I'm going to a nice empty beach today.

JorisBonson · 07/08/2020 10:51

@OrlandoInTheWilderness we did that when it was baking last Friday, made it to 2 hours then went home 😂

Blonde haired, pale and disgustingly overweight! Have always hated the heat though, even when I was lighter. It's the Irish blood in me.

BumbleNova · 07/08/2020 10:53

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and filling up my DS's paddling pool. This is just too much.

justoverthehorizon · 07/08/2020 10:54

omg Me! We are heading West tomorrow where it is going to be a lot cooler and I am so happy!

Tlollj · 07/08/2020 10:54

Me! Fair skinned and currently 38 weeks pregnant. Although I've always been the same, have been a fainter in the heat and I get headaches etc. Hate it.

Me too, and I'm trying to low-cal which makes it worse.

Last heatwave I discovered sitting in a breeze with a cold wet cloth around my neck really helped.

middleager · 07/08/2020 11:01

I'm terrible. If I'm out in it for any given time then I come home exhausted, irritable wiped out for the day.

Last week on a UK break, I was covered top to toe and slapped on factor 50, sat out briefly. I still got burnt!

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 07/08/2020 11:04

Me, again Scottish but living down south.

Having had my temperature taken several times recently and it being quite low, I'm starting to wonder if it's a thing whereby a low body temperature means you feel the heat more/sweat like a pig, even when its not necessarily that hot? I also have the "obvious" things that affect how my body deals with higher temperatures (being overweight and menopausal), but if I naturally "run cold", then it kind of makes sense to me that I'd feel it hotter than someone who "runs warm"?

Milicentbystander72 · 07/08/2020 11:06

Me! instant migraine.

Funnily enough I have done a few hot holidays but the only I can cope is if I literally spend most of the day in the pool. I do climatise a bit eventually and made to get out and do things but it has to be either VERY early or later on in the evening.

Enchantmentz · 07/08/2020 11:10

I only last about half an hour outside in temps above 20'c, sweaty uncomfortable heat that drains the energy out me. My house stays cool throughout summer so it is a relief. Otherwise enjoy a warm day but do tend to seek shade even then. Just a scot here and I don't burn but go very brown if out too much.

woodlandwalker · 07/08/2020 11:11

I'm not fair skinned or overweight but don't do well in heat and has got worse with age. Last Thursday I had to go to an appointment which included public transport and a long walk. My face was like a beetroot and I felt quite ill for the rest of the day.

FredaFrogspawn · 07/08/2020 11:13

I feel for everyone who is heavily pregnant. I carried one of mine years ago in a heatwave and it was tough.

One tip - soak a big towel, squeeze it out and put it in the freezer in a bag. When you get to peak heat, crack it open and lie under it. Bliss!

Clawdy · 07/08/2020 11:14

I hate it. Just hoping it's not as hot as predicted. My heart sinks when "heatwave" is mentioned! Not so bad if on holiday somewhere, but at home, I always wish we had air con!

Wankpuffin · 07/08/2020 11:17

Me, I hate it at the best of times. But I’m also 36 weeks pregnant and I’m REALLY not handling it well now. The other week when it was 33 degrees I was in tears.

princesshollysmagicalwand · 07/08/2020 11:27

Me. I really really hate the heat. Especially at night, I can't bear it. Pre children I was always cold at night, I am always hot now. I even have a 4 tog duvet in winter.

Perfect peak summer weather for me would be about 22-23 degrees and sunny, but to always have space with shade.

Autumn is by far the best season, followed by spring. Lovely.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 07/08/2020 11:37

Me too I'm on medication which can make me feel dizzy even on a cool day
I'm disabled and joints swell and muscles tighten with the hot weather
Plus, at 55 anything over 22 and I sweat through my head.. Never used to happen
It makes me feel quite unwell

labazsisgoingmad · 07/08/2020 11:39
