Hi I was wondering what sleeping bag tog should you buy a newborn, due in October! And how many do they need?

Also what do people recommend more a Moses basket or a next to me type crib?

And last thing, best place for bed sheets for the baby? 😆

I can’t remember the togs but I’d get the warmest one as they generally aren’t that warm. A couple should do so there’s a spare in case of a nappy leak.

DS had a Moses basket and it just went downstairs in the morning so he could nap in it. However, friends who breastfed found next-to-me arrangements more convenient for feeding.

1 tog sleeping bag and a 2.5 tog. Cover all the bases then. At least 2 of each.

Yes to a next time me over a Moses basket.

2.5 tog for winter unless you have the heating on 24/7. The GroBag company have a guide for room temperature and layers. Be aware you may need to use a blanket tucked in for the first few weeks as the bags have a minimum weight. If there is a chance it’s too big round the shoulder the baby might be able to slip down inside the bag.
