TaskMaster at home

Promised the kids we'd do them a homemade taskmaster this week which I'm pretty sure is something a lot of people do, yes?

So:

  1. I saw a video of a game where you blindfold the participants and the challenge is to pick something up with a spoon (can't remember what) but the funny bit is you pretend they're successful when in fact its impossible to do - has anyone seen it and what was the thing being (not) picked up
  2. Any other genius ideas that work well with little kids?

A friend of ours did a zoom quiz based on this for us. The funniest couple that would appeal to kids were

How many items of clothing can you fit on your body in one go and we were timed! (I headed to DH T-shirt drawer as he has a million and he's bigger than me result!)

Baggy Trousers - put on a pair of jogging bottoms and you have to fit as many things in them as possible in a couple of minutes. We have young kids so we had lots of random small pieces of toy crap so that helped! Someone else produced a frying pan from their trousers!

Blind taste test of something that there is a variety of flavours of eg pringles crisps, have to match the correct flavour.

Remove £5 note from under full pint glass, not allowed to touch the glass.

Grape in hand or mouth challenge- you have a grape in either your mouth of your hand and they have to guess which (you can try and fool them, double bluff etc). Or they have the grape and you guess, depending on age since grapes can be a choking hazard for younger ones.

Love these thank you, their attention spans are short so just a few good ones will do!

Alex Horne from Taskmaster did a load of at home tasks for people to do at home over lockdown on YouTube. Have a look, there hopefully should be done good ideas to do!

There's also the book filled with them. Now the kids are teens we do them on birthdays instead of pass the parcel etc. Birthday Child gets to be the task master and judge the rest of us.
