can you put up shelves?

I need some shelves and feel it's a job I really ought to be able to do.
I don't have any equipment though (although could borrow a drill from someone I'm sure)
It seems a lot of money to fork out to pay someone to do it for me, it feels like a life skill that I've somehow circumnavigated but...I'm lazy and not very practical. I think this is something I should learn.

Can YOU put up shelves?

Yes, I can put up shelves I need:

• one of those things that checks there's no electricity in the wall you're about to drill
• a decent power drill plus drill bits
• a step stool/ladder (depending on how high you want the shelves)
• a pencil
• a spirit level
• screwdrivers, rawl plugs, screws
• the shelves and brackets

Main tip? Don't rush - make sure you've measured everything properly.

It's a nice feeling, putting your books and things on shelves you made!
