WWYD re illness / work

DH was diagnosed with cancer in 2017.

For various reasons we only told a few people. I've never mentioned it in work as he has been perfectly well. It looks likely he will have to have some treatment in autumn (chemo). To be honest I still don't want to tell work. I can't bear people feeling sorry for me or asking all the time how he is. Or generally knowing my business.

With wfh now i probably could get away with not saying anything as I won't need to leave work to visit or anything.

What would you do?

Does his work not have an HR function? I would never know if or why a colleague was absent.

I guess if it’s a tiny company you might have a point but given how very common cancer is I would think it’s be nice to Have support if things don’t go as well as you’d hoped.

No, he's told some people in his work. But I've not told anyone.

I guess I don't look to my colleagues for support I get that elsewhere.
