Can anyone recommend some nice restaurants in or around Bournemouth? Preferably those taking part in the government's half price food Mon-Wed scheme.

We like Italian, Modern British, Chinese....most things really.

If you’re taking the family we really loved Turtle Bay. Not very upmarket but taking part in the scheme, good food and lots of fun!

Sorry should have said my dc are older - 19, 17 and 13 so don't need child friendly restaurants.

Prezzo are taking part and it's on the seafront

Ojo Rojo! It's amazing and also has a new outside area

NorthernChinchilla · 05/08/2020 17:04

Definitely Ojo Rojo, I'll be there on Monday!

Booked Oja Rojo for Wednesday!

Any steak house ideas please?

I came on to say Ojo Rojo!😆

There’s a Franco Manca there now, which is a chain but great pizza and would appeal to teens.

Lola’s is a brilliant Tapas place up at the Triangle, but it’s small so not sure how well it would work with SD.

Cosy Club is nice for informal dining / drinks. Big so imagine not too hard to get a table.

Have a lovely time! I grew up in Bournemouth and my family are still there so back a lot. I’m always impressed / slightly jealous as to how many more interesting places to eat and drink there are there compared to when I was living there. Whatever you do, I’d recommend you book (sure you will) as it gets very busy in summer even pre-Covid.

I used to live in Bournemouth here’s a few ideas and I think most of these places are doing the offer

Cotea - they have two in Westbourne the best cake, sandwiches and salad I’ve had in the U.K.
Larderhouse - Great food in Southbourne with a “secret” bar upstairs
Terrier Tapas - owned by the same team as Larderhouse fantastic sustainably produced tapas in a modern restaurant
Jerk Hut - Boscombe (fast food style) and Westbourne (more sit in. but still casual) Great Jamaican food
Chez Fred - Westbourne Fantastic fish and chips, traditional sit in style and they do meal deals with unlimited chips
Dilli Haat - Westbourne the best Indian in our experience
Dosa World - very casual understated, but very authentic South Indian and Sri Lankan food
Korean Grill - Central Bournemouth great Korean food
Chicken and Blues - a few around Bournemouth, local take on grilled chicken similar to Nando’s but I think better!
1805 - lovely Chinese restaurant with great dim sum selection

Unfortunately we’re not big steak fans so I can’t give a good recommendation but Neo would probably have a good steak option (and a fantastic cocktail bar!) or there is a miller and carter.

Wow thank you so much, great recommendations 👍

@lurker101 is Mrs Bs or Mrs Ts or something still in Westbourne? I went there years ago with a boyfriend.

I don’t think it is unfortunately, I didn’t come across it when I was there and we tried most places.... 😂

I almost forgot - Montys and 7 Bone are two great options for burgers in Bournemouth town centre

Bonkersblond · 10/08/2020 22:48

Urban Garden is mostly outside eating and overlooks Bournemouth gardens, great for breakfast and lunch - has a really good vibe.

NorthernChinchilla · 10/08/2020 22:50

Second 7bone, will be there tomorrow, and we had ChezFred tonight.

GenghisCalm · 10/08/2020 23:00

Funki Griller is a great steak restaurant you can watch them cook your food on screens around the restaurant.

JanewaysBun · 10/08/2020 23:05

1805 for delicious dim sum!
