What walls do I paint?!?

Painting my living room Sapphire Salute, it’s quite a dark/navy blue type colour. Doing two walls in the blue and two walls a light cream-ish white colour.

Currently have a red feature wall, that’s getting painted blue, and the other three are a dark cream colour.

So do I paint the feature wall and the wall opposite it blue (both walls same size, opposite wall has a radiator along part of it but kind of tucked behind the living room door)
OR
The feature wall and the window wall blue (window wall is right next to feature wall and will have dark blue curtains).

The painting is happening tonight and I still haven’t made up my mind which walls so please help! Living room is small but the windows are huge if that makes a difference.

I assume you want the room to stay as light as possible ? If that's the case then paint the walls that when the sun comes in and hits a wall, the lighter shade. Or imagine yourself sat in the room looking at the wall opposite, which colour do you prefer, as that is the one you will mostly see.

What a wonderful colour name!

You can't paint two walls next to each other the same colour! Thems the rools.

@VictoriaBun extremely lucky that when the sun does very occasionally make an appearance (Scotland!) we get it through the living room all day, hits all the walls bar the window wall!

@SepticTankYank I didn’t know that was a rule but it’s just made my life so much simpler so I like it Grin

I'd do feature wall and one of the ones next to it - I think otherwise it looks a bit weird and disconnected. But depends on how the dark blue will look with the dark blue curtains - it might be a bit jarring if they're slightly different blues?

Sounds like a lovely colour!

I've just painted Ds's bedroom and done 2 walls next to each other 1 colour and the other 2 next to each other the other. I like it Smile
