Is there a way I can find out if my flight, that I chose not to go on was cancelled ?

Should be able to see whether it has or not on the airlines website? Or the actual airports departures section of the website.

As long as you know the reference number of the flight, you can look on the arrivals or departures board of the relevant airport.
