It could be your last one or it might go on for years. I've attended colposcopy clinics for more than 16 years. I've had a couple of biopsies and treatments. It doesn't really interfere with my life. I treat it as a smear test - it's essentially the same level of inconvenience just a bit more often.

I'd also rather it was monitored as closely as it is being. I always attend. I've had some private treatment (just because work layer of BUPA). The NHS handle it very well tho.

I'd say not to worry too much about it but always attend.

Impossible to say.

If it helps though, I had a colonoscopy and laser treatment for abnormal cells in my early twenties, I'm now nearly fifty and I've never needed another to date.

I had a colposcopy in August 2019- first time I had a smear test come back with issues. Was quite scary and it said HPV and moderate abnormal smears.
I had to have a repeat colposcopy in March. I've since been discharged but need to have a smear again in March 2021.

Like PPs have said, it's hard to know for sure, but being under observation is the important thing.
Hopefully the cells will resolve themselves, but treatment can also be a one off.

Good luck, and try not to worry (easier said than done I know)

I've just had yet another colposcopy and have to go back for a Loop in a few weeks. I think I've had about 12 or 13 smears or colposcopies in the past 14 years, since I was 25ish. They're not a barrel of laughs and mostly come out as showing mild symptoms but I'm happier with repeat smears and so on if if means I'm being checked regularly.
