Mental health issues or just horrible?

My friends dd (12), has a vile temper and if she doesn’t get her own way, she throws tantrums, screaming, crying, saying really hurtful things, throwing and breaking things. She did this to me recently during a conversation between the two of us. When I didnt agree with her point of view and tell her she was right, she went ballistic. She shouted, among other things, that she hated me, wished I was dead and would never speak to me again. This isn’t the first time this has happened and her mum lives with this daily. Do you think she has a disorder of some kind or is she just just horrible spoiled child?

Lovedbyascotsman · 04/08/2020 22:01

My partner has erectile dysfunction caused by diabetes 2, drinking far too much and being overweight. He says he’s depressed and upset about this. I’ve tried to help by encouraging him to eat healthier, drink less (much less) and talking to his gp.
He makes half hearted attempts but never sees anything through.
Ive told him I don’t care so much about the sex but I really miss the intimacy, the cuddles and kisses. He now won’t even let me see him naked and we’re sleeping apart. We’ve only been together three years.
I’m feeling unloved and undesirable. Can this relationship survive?

@Lovedbyascotsman wrong thread?

Rainbows89 · 04/01/2021 02:11

What would be different if it was either one of those things?

Lovedbyascotsman · 04/01/2021 02:20

Sorry should be new thread.

Perhaps she is in a middle ground between mental health issues and just plain horribleness?
Puberty is likely hitting her pretty hard right about now, with lots of out of control emotions. She may have a bit of a weak spot in her resilience and emotion regulation skills.
These may of course be a part of something more serious but without knowing more about her upbringing and developmental history it's hard to say.

Just horrible

Lovedbyascotsman · 04/01/2021 09:23

She has been diagnosed with ADHD and borderline personality disorder.
She’s also been warned by the police twice, and shouts and swears at them too.
She’s awaiting medication.
