I get working tax credits and child tax credits. When I was pregnant with my daughter I rung tax credits and they advised me to ring back when baby was born to add her to my claim. Not sure if it's dale with income support but imagine it would be

Do you receive any other benefits? Housing Benefit? Child Tax Credits? Personal Independence Payment? Anything else?

AnotherEmma · 04/08/2020 21:06

PS Also do you have any children already and if so how many and how old are they? Usually income support is for single people, are you in a relationship with the father and are you planning to move in together?

In that case you can stay on "legacy benefits" (ie the benefits you're getting now) and won't have to change to UC. You can simply update your claims for child benefit and child tax credits, and you will get extra for the new baby. Your income support and housing benefit will stay the same. (Assuming you're renting and you have 2 bedrooms, your bedroom entitlement won't change because 2 young children are expected to share.)

Turn 2 Us is a great website to check out benefit entitlements.
