Deodorant without any nasties

Hi everyone

I'm looking to switch my deodorant for something that is non toxic that works. I'm freaking myself out over how many toxins are in my everyday items, from my bedroom to my kitchen and would like to phase an alternative in

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I forgot to add that I'd really appreciate suggestions that you have tried and tested as there are so many ideas on the net and it is overwhelming

I’ve just started using one called PITT BALM and it’s great, not the cheapest but really effective and lasts a while, plus plastic free. Other ones I’ve seen advertised but not used myself include Nuud and Wild. Xx

I have been using Pitrok, the roll on one. They also have a crystal one that you apply to clean damp skin or wet it before use but I feel the roll on has been more effective for me.

I mean there's some days I do get a bit wiffy but I'm happy enough to know there's no nasties!!

'Jason' is nice smelling, especially the lavender one and natural. Pitrock is a good staple. Do you want one that doesn't also come in a plastic package because you can buy a power deodorant in metal cases as well as a roll on in a cardboard container 😊

Personally I like the Weleda deodorant that comes in a glass spray bottle, the citrus one is very nice

I just use a Sure roll on and I've been fine. I don't use the spray deodorants anymore for obvious reasons.
Also bought myself a steam cleaner to reduce the amount of chemicals I use when cleaning my house 👍🏻

That said, I use Earth Conscious deodorant - not because it's 'natural' but because it's plastic free - and it's very effective. Nice range of smells too.

I like the Awake organics, aura deodorant

I've tried loads, they are not as effective as your regular deodorant. There is a company called Wild that are also zero waste so you get a stick replacement and it comes in paper. Pitt is okay, smells good. There are lots of eco choices in TKMaxx

I like dr organic from holland and barrett and also weleda deodorants.
They smell like real flowers/ plants. Yum.

If you are doing a 12 hour shift you might want to take to work with you for a second application. But for 8 hours they’re fine.

There is nothing in a bog standard antiperspirant thats going to do your baby any harm.

Salt of the Earth deodorants are fantastic! I started using their sprays when I was breastfeeding due the lack of nasties in it and still use it now.

@dementedpixie is totally right. It’s not worth the worry or the expense

A vote for the Tropic deodorant here! Can’t remember what it’s called but it’s a cream deodorant that you have to rub in...the tube can get a little messy but it smells great and has worked for me!

Body shop do a good one

Second vote for salt of the earth sprays. They work and all natural

Just because something is natural doesn't make safe or non toxic.

Pierre d'alun, just wet and use. Good on insect bites that swell up, too.

Hi, i am a Tropic Skincare ambassador and have switched to our cream antiperspirant. I love it, it works, lasts all day and smells amazing! Its called Feel Fresh and is £10 but lasts a good while.
It is natural, vegan, non toxic and environmentally friendly.
Alot of natural deodorants won't be antiperspirant (the may mask any smells but won't prevent them) because they contain no aluminium which is the worrying part of deodorants. Tropic contains a natural form of safe aluminium salts which are specifically used at the aluminium partials are too big to be absorbed but sit on the surface to do their job so perfectly safe. I have just switched to Wild. It’s great - I feel awesome for not generating loads of plastic waste.
It’s pricey - £5 a refill. Also, hot days you probably need to reapply about mid afternoon, but it smells fab and I love it.

Have you got anxiety?. Water will kill us in the right dose.

I like Wild - mostly because I am trying to reduce plastics. But also because it is nice.

Natural Deodorant Company ones are great. I use orange and bergamot.

@dementedpixie I think you are right that the concentration of "harmful" ingredients is not big enough to cause damage. I decided to opt for products that do not contain ingredients that are listed as harmful in pregnancy. For me it's because we had fertility issues that the doctor said most likely caused by epigenetic changes due to environmental exposure in utero to plastics, pesticides and other chemicals. I though if I try reducing exposure to these things while pregnant this might help, who knows. Probably drop in the ocean but won't harm me trying.
