...as the preschool years are now but a messy, shouty blur for me.
need to get a birthday present, budget up to £40. Obviously will run any ideas past the parent, but I like to offer a few suggestions in case they're fed with of giving ideas to people.

My 2 year old loves cars and blocks and dinosaurs at the moment and anything paw patrol Smile

Lovely stuff on Great Little Trading Company
Wooden tea set, garage, play food
We have the wooden tea trolley (was bought when my middle grandson was 2 years old and obsessed with cafes)
It’s 6 years old now and we have built up a selection of wooden food and kettle, toaster etc
Although the boys are older now they still love it...and my sisters granddaughters love it all too

My 2 year old adores a little sink from John Lewis (also have on amazon) with a battery powered working tap. Endless hours of entertainment with that both indoors and ourdoors. Bath toys are always a winner too.

I think my 9yo still has that exact sink and tap somewhere! These are all really helpful suggestions. I will have a browse tonight.

My two year old is dinosaur mad! Also likes cars, trains, kinetic sand...

Wooden train track, with a battery operated train to make it even better. IKEA have just bought out a battery train for their set.

Duplo train set also popular here, pretend food sets and tea sets popular with all of mine at 2. There are various pretend ice cream sets that are very popular.

Grimm's toys, if the parents are into wooden toys. Orchard Games puzzles.

Jigsaws and story books are always good if looking ahead a bit. Both more useful at 2.5 years but nice to have before turning 3. (I guess they could get them at Christmas with this timing though). Plus they don’t take up lots of space.

Anything that makes a mess.

You could get a sand/water table and sand for less than £40.
