Weed - what would you do?

New neighbours are big weed fans. Several very strong smelling joints every evening without fail. If we have a window open our house smells of it.

Do we just put up with it? Would you do anything?

Sounds like you got my old neighbours who moved last week! I got them to tone it down (I think) by opening our bedroom window when they were smoking in the back garden and shouting down to my partner 'well at least now we know which twats are making our bathroom stink of weed every night' then coughing loads. Only smelt it once after that. A lot of people who smoke weed seem to think they're being really sly about it, it can help to remind them that they aren't.

We eventually had the neighbourhood policing team out to our neighbours. Thankfully that seemed to have stopped it but knocking on the door/shouting out the window/note in the letterbox all made no difference despite them saying they would stop. We back on to fields and fields so they can go away from civilisation I’m not necessarily against them having the odd smoke if that’s what floats their boat but it’s really anti social in a residential street when a 3 minute walk gets you into no mans land. I think once the police had been round they took not annoying is with it a bit more seriously. I’d love to see it clamped down on more harshly.

We dont know whether to talk to them or go straight to the landlord.

Better than barbecue. You want to swap neighbours? Grin

God I love a bbq - yes, please let's!!!

If you know who their landlord is then I'd speak to them in the first instance. If the smell is making its way into your home then it's surely making its way into the rental property too! After that I'd speak to the neighbourhood policing team

Thanks. They have a young baby which to be honest I am judgemental about but each to their own- but I dont see why I have to have my toddler smelling it at 5pm because he is playing in our garden!

Yeah I understand. Our upstairs neighbours smoke and sell it. Our bathroom stinks some days as they've been smoking it in their flat and we don't even have the window open!
