Just noticed this on iplayer, what age would you say this is suitable from? Common sense media is saying 11 but I remember being terrified as a child.

Id say it depends on the child. I watched it as a kid and was fine. How ever I can see why parents would nt let their kids watch it.

Interesting fact. The skeletons in the swamp are real

SuperPixie247 · 03/08/2020 14:35

I am new to horror as I am a massive chicken so I would say early teens?

SweetPetrichor · 03/08/2020 14:37

I'd say 15. Maybe that's too old but it is creepy and yeah, real skeletons. One of my favourite horrors though!

Ohfrigginghellers · 23/08/2020 16:11

I love this film and loved watching it as a kid. Although my ds is 8 so probably too young.

StarSpangled372 · 23/08/2020 17:07

I was around 14 when I watched it and it terrified me! I found it quite disturbing but loved it at the same time!

FlamingoAndJohn · 23/08/2020 17:08

I watched it the other day.
It's scary but not gory.
It depends on the child really.

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 23/08/2020 17:10

it was my favourite film as a child, I think i was about 10ish

OohKittens · 23/08/2020 17:45

I did end up letting my children watch it. It honestly wasn't scary and they loved it. I would say the Tom Cruise war of the worlds is far creepier (but my kids love it).

Ooh kittens, how old are your children?

OohKittens · 29/08/2020 15:31

8, 10 and 13. Yes some will say it's too young. But there are no sexual scenes and they are brought up knowing about spirits, and how this was not real. They just saw it as a creepy film and honestly were not scared at all. I checked on common sense media too.
