Choosing a new bed

I'm upgrading to a super king, yay!

I'm really stumped on what sort of frame to have though.

I find drawers can make contents a bit musty, and think they don't make best use of the area as you lose a lot of storage space in the fixings.

I've considered ottoman beds but as the storage will probably be used for shoes, so accessed frequently would this be a pain?

I'm tempted to have a "normal" frame - don't know what the proper term is for it, with just some pull out boxes underneath, but this may look messy.

What did you choose and are you happy with it?

We have a leather sleigh bed with drawers. The bed is gorgeous and we keep Christmas decorations in the drawers so access to them is not an issue.
My son has an ottoman which he loves and keeps all his soft toys in. It’s only a single though so not sure if a double would be as convenient with bedding etc.

@grannybags thanks for that. My thoughts exactly with the ottoman, it's probably a doddle to lift a single, but a bigger bed may quickly become a pain.
I guess the things in your drawers can't go musty if it's Christmas decorations rather than spare bedding etc?

We have a super king ottoman Grin honestly it’s the best thing we’ve ever bought.

It takes both hands to lift using the two tabs at the bottom of the bed but it isn’t difficult to lift up at all. It’s on some sort of hydraulic system. The size/weight of the mattress can affect this too. We can store LOADS under ours!

We have the Brimnes bed from Ikea. It’s got loads of storage, yes it has drawers underneath but they’re huge and slide out really easily. We also have the optional storage headboard. Our bed is huge and we love it, it fits all the DC. Grin
