I've had to pause it as am eating dinner and couldn't swallow past the lump.

LST · 02/08/2020 18:33

Read the book too. Its heartbreaking

Soubriquet · 02/08/2020 18:36

Yup! I sobbed. Same to Marley and Me

But then I generally find I cry more when an animal dies instead of a human..

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/08/2020 19:49

I’m not even trying to watch that, I always end up blubbing.

RosieLemonade · 02/08/2020 20:21

I really want to read the book. It’s on my list.

Aurorie11 · 02/08/2020 20:22

Watched it with the kids, I sobbed they didn't

PhoebeSnow · 02/08/2020 20:27

Saw it at cinema and sobbed, can’t watch it again, it isn’t just the horses, it’s the the old grandfather and his granddaughter story, and those beautiful German boy soldiers are heartbreaking. I can’t bear human’s disgusting treatment of animals and the way we treat each other.

I read this book as a kid, it left such a profound impact on me. It was so sad and also the first time I learned anything about war and no mans land

Trashtara · 03/08/2020 12:20

It is brilliant.

The stage production is fabulous. So, so well done. But not as heart wrenching I don't think.

Knittedfairies · 03/08/2020 12:56

I agree about the stage production; it's brilliant though.
