I feel really uncomfortable... I received some seeds in a small clear plastic bag from China. They were about 5 - 6mm in length and the colour of kidney beans. These had a grey mottling on them. I knew I didn’t order them so I binned them 🤷‍♀️.

There is something different going on too, I ordered seeds from what looked like a uk seller but after weeks the seeds arrived from China. I chucked them in the log burner, no way am I risking planting something that could be full of plant virus. I don't need the guilt of introducing a plant disease to Wales. I reported them as they didn't have any documentation so could have been anything.

I am aware of that. The post I quoted specifically stated that the seeds could be infected with covid 19, which is what I was responding to. It is absolute madness for anyone to suggest the seeds could deliberately be used in an elaborate plot for China to infect the world with covid - 19. There is no evidence to support such an assertion. That kind of scaremongering and ignorance should be called out.

The poster said nothing of the sort, she just said that they might be "infected with covid!", nothing about some bizarre conspiracy theory, that was in your head! I think she was probably being flippant anyway...

They could be infected with something just as devastating as Sars-Cov-19 though.

@MellowMelly
Quite possibly! And they're rather delicious too

I’m glad to hear they taste good Smile I was rather concerned after reading about killer courgettes! Who would of known?!

Thanks for this. Yes it was a flippant remark not intended to be taken seriously Hmm Apologies if it sounded anything otherwise.

The worrying thing is that some people will actually plant them just out of curiosity risking plant diseases, invasive species, etc.
