Why 5.20am every day?!?!?

Why do I wake up at 5.20am every single day no matter what time i go to bed or how tired I am?!? I could go to bed at 8pm or 11pm and it’s still 5.20 exactly every day.... I’m just pondering cos I’m tired 😂

I get woken up at 4.45 every day. And it took me ages to figure out why. Someone runs round and round the part of the village I live in. He must be making sure he does the right amount of distance as he goes round and round the part that I live in five times. Excatly the same time every single day.

Granted I’m a light sleeper and that’s why he wakes me up. And yes I live in a village so it is dead quiet all night and that means any other noise stands out.
But every morning. I hear him huffing and puffing and running.

Are you my baby??

NannyR · 01/08/2020 10:50

Is there something that happens at that time that disturbs your sleep - a neighbours alarm clock, someone leaving for work - a noise that you probably wouldn't notice during the day but if you are just coming into a light sleep it might be enough to wake you up.

Twisique · 01/08/2020 11:14

Do you wake up at that time when you are on holiday?

RosieLemonade · 01/08/2020 11:16

DD wakes at 4:50 every morning. I’m so conditioned that even when she sleeps somewhere else I wake up at the time and can’t get back to sleep 😭😭😭

SteelyPanther · 01/08/2020 11:18

Me too.
Somewhere around 6am.
If I make it to 7am I’m cocker-hoop !

User56781234 · 01/08/2020 11:19

Are you on a flight path with a regular 5.20am plane?

Regulus · 01/08/2020 11:25

Try setting an alarm to wake yourself up at 3am then the next night 4am then the third night 4.30am. I find this breaks the habit.

Doggotired · 01/08/2020 12:01

No obvious noises, neighbours go to work at 6am, quite a quiet street.... maybe I shall set my alarm for 5am and watch out my window at 5.20 for something that must happen at that time every single day!

I feel your pain op.

tiredanddangerous · 01/08/2020 12:03

I ask myself the same question about dd1 every day. I'm yet to find a solution.

ShoppingBasket · 01/08/2020 12:05

Def something waking you, my ds had a certain time he woke every day until I realised it was the click of the heating coming on and the water heating up disturbing him!

BlueJava · 01/08/2020 12:13

As @ShoppingBasket says think about the boiler/water heating. That used to wake me up but I seem to have got used to it now - thankfully!

It's cock-a-hoop. Smile
Cheesecakejar · 01/08/2020 12:17

@Justjoinedforthis 🤣🤣🤣 I debated it being mine but funnily enough he's having a nap! I wonder why?

Paranoidmarvin · 01/08/2020 20:57

So. Today I have switched rooms with my son. I’m now at the back of the house. So will see if this makes any difference. No milkman or runner to wake me up.

ShoppingBasket · 01/08/2020 23:49

Paranoidmarvin let us know how get on.

SpringIsSprung1 · 01/08/2020 23:57

Dawn chorus?

Crinkle77 · 02/08/2020 00:04

Neighbours' alarm clock goes off.
Xiaoxiong · 02/08/2020 00:19

Defo neighbour's alarm, or them flushing the loo or running the tap to fill the kettle. Seems like too much of a coincidence that you wake up exactly 40 mins before the neighbour leaves for work each morning.

Once you get habituated to waking up the same time every day you'll likely do it every day, even on days your neighbours don't work.
