I love food threads. Blush

We are having steak sandwiches today for lunch. Topped with Ayvar which is a glorious balkan red pepper paste.

Dinner- probably marinated salmon with asparagus.

Tomorrow I am making a sunday roast..... proobably lemon and herbed chicken with warm potato salad, and salad caprese. I still call that a roast as the chicken will be roasted.

It is Saturday dinner time here in Sydney. We had leftover pizza for lunch, Indian feast for dinner so I have made butter chicken and spinach naans. DH is cooking keema mataar, prawn patia, Dahl and rice. I love a Sunday roast but it is often too hot to have the oven on. As it is Winter it will be a full on Sunday roast tomorrow - beef, roast potatoes and yorkies, cauliflower cheese, roast pumpkin and peas. Crumble and custard after.

Today: BBQ sweet chilli chicken with potato salad, courgette salad and homemade coleslaw.
Tomorrow: might attempt Goan fish curry

Off to a socially distanced gathering today. We are all bringing our own food so today lunch and dinner will be your standard picnic fayre

We have:
Dips (humous, tzaki, guacamole, salsa) with mini pittas and crisps for dipping.
Mini sausages
Sausage rolls
Herb feta parcels
Mini falafel
Chicken wings (spicy for adults and plain for kids)
Olives
Italian meat selection
Pasta salad and normal salad (homemade!)
Mixed berries and cream

  • its mainly courtesy of M&S and none of us like your big standard sarnies.

I'll also throw in some bits I know the kids will eat (babybels, yogurts, ginger bread biscuits)

Cannot wait!!

Tomorrow will be bacon sarnies for brunch, meatballs for dinner and probably left over picnic stuff for snacks.

Back to the healthy eating on Monday Grin

Whilst lying in my wind battered tent on Monday I started fantasising about a stew Grin so I have made a beef and guiness hot pot to have with Yorkshire’s and peas later.
I’m not sure about tomorrow maybe something lighter like a full on ploughman’s lots of salad new potatoes and good cheese. Hmmm maybe that’s not so light!

We are having pulled pork rolls with coleslaw & salad tonight , had salmon with spicy rice and roasted tomatoes last night . I’ve no idea about tomorrow until I see what the weather is doing

I've been busy making bread this morning so it's fresh rolls and soup for lunch. Dinner will be Indian spiced shepherds pie.

Tomorrow we'll have leftovers for lunch, then veggie chilli & rice for dinner.

Loaded Nachos for a quick fun weekend dinner.
Tortilla Crisps, shredded BBQ pulled pork, spring onion, jalapeños, salsa, guacamole, thick sour cream, and a mountain of melted cheese on top!
Washed down with a beer - amazing!
