Cladding in a bathroom

I'm considering cladding over the tiles on our bathroom. I found an mdf panel which looks perfect for the job and is moisture resistant - but will it work?
Has anybody done this? Any tips etc?
Thanks

Moisture resistant is not waterproof, so will it depend on where your putting it.

Our bathroom has floor to ceiling plastic cladding made by De Keuninck. Looks marvellous.

We've looked at this for an option. Would you mind sharing a photo? Did you install it yourself?

I have this exact cladding ( the mdf) one on lower half of bathroom wall looks nice when painted . Not sure you can fit it over the tiles tho if that’s what u meant ?

A very helpful builder said we could put it over tiles, but he advised not to because the moisture in the bathroom would warp it.

I'm keen to see photos of the pvc panels or the mdf if anyone is happy to share, I need inspiration!

This is a photo of the bathroom in question (if the upload works...)

We've been here for nearly 5 years and have left the bathroom as it just feels like such a big job!

We have the cladding panels in two bathrooms and downstairs loo. I love them.

Here's ours. You can also see the celing cladding with 5mm chrome trim between the panels. The previous owner put it in, along with a non-slip viny floor.

It's a lot lighter in real life.

That does look very clean neat... We have a huge problem with condensation so that looks like it would be easy to dry after day

This is ours. It needs redoing soon as it’s been on a while

We have it in all 3 bathrooms, looks like tiles but no grout.
We did take the tiles off rather than go over the top but the walls don’t need to be perfect to apply it so no need for replastering

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 01/08/2020 14:05

@fairplay It was put in as part of the extension in 2004, so it's properly insulated and condensation isn't an issue. There's also a humidistat on the extractor fan.
