Really awful headaches in the back of my head?

Since March, I've been getting incredibly painful headaches in the back of my head on the left side that sometimes go right through to my left eye (eye doesn't hurt but I can feel pain behind it if that makes sense). Nothing seems to bring this on but the cold makes it worse and paracetamol etc does nothing. It's always on the left side and is a strong pain for hours and then eventually dulls into a constant throbbing ache. It makes me feel ill. For example, I started having one about 12pm today and it's only now going into an ache and it still hurts behind my eye. Has anyone had this??

Hi, no I haven't had this but you should speak to your GP.

Headaches can be caused by almost nothing or something serious.

Given the timing it might be stress related (basically I'm blaming everthing in this bloody pandemic) but you should get it checked.

Hope you feel better soon.

I’d go to Gp. Most likely stress/muscle related but worth checking out.

I’m having the same thing it’s not every day but mine is a small patch at the back of my head only on the left side of the head. Which lasts all day. I have been bit stressed lately It’s such an odd sensation makes me stress even more 😩

Go to the GP to check it isn't serious but it could be related to muscle tension. Try kneading along the ridge as the back of your skull with your fingers and lightly massaging the rest of your scalp and neck.

@mouini how are your headaches now? I’ve had the same headache since around July and I also have tinnitus 😓

This seems to be a super common thing. A headache on the back of the head on the left side. I have the same thing. Could it be a lymph node? Or an inflammatory response? Sinusitis? Mine is on the left where my deviated septum is and sometimes I feel it in the back of the head and also in the left nostril area. Hmm

Dr was stumped. Just said to watch it. Been watching it for a few days now and it’s still there. Had a deep tissue massage in my neck yesterday in case it’s muscular. She did say I had a ton of tension in the neck

I've found using a cervical cushion helps these type of headaches. I got mine on amazon for about £3

Get it checked out immediately. Seriously, don't just ignore it. Calll 111 if you have to.

Thanks. But as I said, I’ve see. The dr already and he didn’t think it was anything - just an annoying headache.
