Rape Convictions Reach Record Low.

Only 1200 cases made it to Court in the first half on 2020; so it's blazingly obvious that victims are not receiving any kind of support. There's a distinct lack of options in terms of people feeling able to elucidate their assault. Victims are also painfully aware they would need a physical examination and cross-examined in Court depicting them as slutty, lying, manipulative people. Very sad.

I heard that the CPS are having very demanding evidence and the police are reluctant in many cases to put a case forward which they feel, on experience will be bounced by the CPS. Also, the examination of mobile phones/social media entries may be a big issue too.

I suspect the poor conviction rate is the same in equivelent countries.
