Quick card/board game recommendations

I’m looking for some more quick games that take minimal setting up. We have quite a lot of board games already but would love some more quick ones.
Games I already have and would like similar are
UNO
One night ware wolf
Exploding kittens
Love letters
Dobble
Cat chaos

Thanks

We love 7s up, but it has to be 4. Deal all the cards out, whoever has the 7 of spades puts it down and then everyone take a turn. The cards have to follow on, so 7, 8 ,9 etc in the right suite. But then its very tactical if you have say 10 hearts and no other hearts you can hold it and make everyone wait.

Dutch Blitz
Point Salad
Monopoly Deal
Sushi Go
Phase 10

For board games, these require minimal set up
Azul
Ticket to Ride
Carcassone

My 6 and 8 year olds love Dragonwood (and I like it too). No board = small box, so easy to take on holiday.

Pig (dice game). Needs a dice, pen and paper.
Roll the dice and score whatever number you get. You can roll as many times as you want to add on to your score, but if you roll a one that turns score is wiped out to zero. The trick is to judge when to stop rolling and write down your score and pass play to the next person. Can play first to 101 or 500. Good for improving maths skills in small kids too Smile

Bananagrams is great fun, but kids need to be a bit older and able to spell reliably.

Avalon is fun, minimal set up and only takes 10 minutes or so but it’s really fun to play.

Rather loving Secret Hitler at the moment, though for teens I'd imagine. Obama Llama also causes some hysteria here, but again probably for older kids as younger ones might not know who some of the people mentioned are.

For a basic, fun card game though I find you cant beat Fluxx. I love the Monty Python version personally but there are many different ones.

Thanks for all the suggestions, lots to look at.

@usernotfound0000 I’ve got all of those, we tried Azul a couple of times but didn’t manage to get into it - will try again as it has such good reviews.

@Batqueen have added Gloom to my short list, looks like the kind of game we would like.

@Xiaoxiong have ordered Dragonwood as that look great.

@HexyAndIKnowIt agree that fluxx is great just need to find my copy of it.

Backgammon

Frenchfancy · 30/07/2020 12:15

Bonanza is by far and away the best card game we have. We call it the bean game. You plant beans and harvest and trade.

City, sushi go and coloretto are other favourites.
