There was a thread a month or so ago about Madeleine McCann new evidence.
The case has moved forward significantly since this. What I don't understand is if Christian B was in the Algarve the same time as Madeleine, why wasn't he investigated? Was he not a known paedophile at that time? Why didn't the police check out the place in Germany they are digging now?
I truly hope the family get justice and find some peace at last.

I'm not sure if was known as a paedophile at the time. However there were a surprising number of known paedophiles in the Algarve. I also think he's been under investigation for much longer than we've known about him.

It's up for debate whether he was known.
I am sure I've seen that he did tell them he had previous convictions at some point.

@Ohsuchaperfectday.. thanks for your posts. We were on holiday in the Algarve around the time he could have been there which is a chilling thought, and what really scares me is that I saw something dodgy, not to do with Maddie's disappearance as we weren't there then, but when we were at a cafe off the tourist trail a strange looking man in a pornographic t shirt was watching a young girl with her family. That memory stayed with me and now I wonder if he was anything to do with it. It's a horrible thought

A t-shirt with a pornographic image on it I assume.

As I understand it he was interviewed in the early days, along with hundred others, and either had an alibi or for some other reason was dismissed.

It was years later when the telephone records were re examined that his name came up again.

@LizzieMacQueen.. thanks for clarifying. It's so vague and been going on for so long. It's insane that he seems to have gone under the radar for so long.

No it was 20 years ago and Maddie went missing in 2007 so it was long before the McCanns were there. If I had reported it what would they have done anyway? It was just a bloke staring at a girl. It's just chilling that he could have been a paedophile or even CB himself.

It's so worrying. New article is today saying he wanted to be called '' happy hobby hippy ''.

Of course we don't know that it's him.....but he's clearly an awful human regardless...

It was extremely alarming. Made me feel that he could well be implicated.
The German suspect is clearly a dangerous Paedophile.

It appears police found something that makes them know Maddie is no longer alive.
They have chatroom stuff from this creep, too.

I really like that German police are quietly doing the work without disclosing anything along the way to avoid media speculations.

It's disgraceful that neither Portuguese nor British police picked up on him at the time, especially Portuguese.

Yeah they seemed to spend more time trying to find evidence to pin the blame on the McCanns. They might have been able to save her if they'd pulled their fingers out. Apparently the Portugese police were trying to cover stuff up to avoid bad publicity. Bit late for that. We'll never set foot there again.
