What would you do with 6 hours to yourself?

Tomorrow both my DCs are at holiday club. I'll have 9. 15am-3.45pm on my own. Words cannot describe how excited I feel at the prospect of peace!

How to make the most of it though 🤔

Well I am very very jealousEnvy!

Honestly, I'd waste it. I'd sit around eating crisps watching crap. And I'd absolutely love it.

Somebody grown up might be along to give a better answer soon Grin

lucysmam · 28/07/2020 21:14

I'd love to say I'd give the house a good clean and tidy from top to bottom, whilst playing my favourite music, interspersed with cups of coffee IN SILENCE....

In reality, I suspect I would also waste it. I'd have coffee, and cake, and mooch about t'interweb more than likely after a quick tidy up!

Enjoy your peace Bluewaves, I'm counting down the weeks until I finally get 1.5 hours ALONE in the house (14th Sept after work at dd2's school....it's forever away!)

ShimmeringIce · 28/07/2020 21:16

Something creative, then a nap!

guineapig1 · 28/07/2020 21:16

What I’d like to do: 10k run, make an elaborate cake or prep, light and healthy but tasty lunch and watch a film in the language I’ve been trying to progress in for 5+ years

Reality: bath and a cup of tea, mid-morning nap, baked camembert and half a fresh loaf for lunch whilst Gavin & Stacey reruns play in the background then a spot of light gardening before rushing to pick them up.

Ivyr0se · 28/07/2020 21:18

Sleep

UpToonGirl · 28/07/2020 21:21

Honestly? I'd hit the shop on the way home, pick up some treats and spend the day watching crappy tv! I love this as a one off, if it's a regular thing I'd probably do something more productive for a couple of hours though.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 28/07/2020 21:21

I've got 48hrs to myself this weekend. I'm blitzing the playroom, having lazy dinners, enjoying the silence, watching crap TV of my choosing and reading.

katmarie · 28/07/2020 21:22

I would most likely tidy up a bit, work on a DIY project I really need to get cracking on, and spend far too much time on mumsnet/Facebook. I would also eat whatever I like for lunch and have some chocolate in peace.

clary · 28/07/2020 21:23

I'd go for a long swim (hah! Not helpful atm!) and cook something yummy. Or tidy a cupboard that was annoying me (did my baking one last week). Then with the rest if the time I'd sit and watch crap on TV that everyone else objects to.

Feralkidsatthecampsite · 28/07/2020 21:24

When ds started ft school last Sept and it was the first free days in years.....

I went back to bed til lunchtime!!
Blush
Then had lunch and watched TV til 3!!
Sprayed kitchen bleach around the kitchen so it appeared i had been busy all day!

RunningNinja79 · 28/07/2020 21:33

I'd go somewhere and potter about. Go to the next town or city over and just walk about looking at the sites and architecture etc. Or I'd go to the nearest national park and just walk. I like walking.

Reality I'd drop them off, go home sit for a bit, get bored, go for a run, shower, sit for a bit, pick them up and be annoyed for wasting a full day.

wendz86 · 28/07/2020 21:44

I’d prob do a couple of hours cleaning , go to the gym and then sit and watch tv and eat snacks .

Toomanycats99 · 28/07/2020 21:50

Pop to the shops get some nice food for lunch and then laze at home enjoying the peace.

I have 2 days to myself this weekend - first night away from my dd since about Xmas the first one I am going to break my low carb diet and have a really nice meal and the second one I am looking up London walks and planning to do one of them.

labyrinthloafer · 28/07/2020 21:52

Don't do cleaning, can't the kids do that when they get back??

RedCatBlueCat · 28/07/2020 22:01

I've got 5 hrs Wed, Thurs and Fri!!
I've had about 5 hours child free (except for trips to tesco) since mid March. DH will be WFH.
I want to properly clean the house. The rest of the time is currently blank, or waiting for a volunteering opportunity to be confirmed. I cant wait!

RedCatBlueCat · 28/07/2020 22:04

labyrinthloafer that's the whole point of cleaning in my free hours. The kids have been doing it. On the surface, everything looks great, but I know underneath the fruit bowl, behind the sofa, inside the oven etc etc is getting pretty grim!

AnneLovesGilbert · 28/07/2020 22:04

Sleep. SLEEEEEPPPPPP.....

happypotamus · 28/07/2020 22:08

Tidy up whilst listening to loud music, boring I know but desperately needed. Then lie on the settee and watch tv. I have watched a total of 5 pre-recorded tv programmes since March due to lack of childfree time.

MinecraftMother · 28/07/2020 22:24

Wank myself silly.

ginandgingers92 · 28/07/2020 22:26

Oh this is the question 😍

I think I'd have a little nap, do some bits around the house I've been meaning to do - (but not cleaning) or maybe some baking. Then I'd go and sit in a coffee shop with a book.
Heaven.

Then I'd ask for more wishes and more hours...

mylittlesandwich · 28/07/2020 22:29

I'd probably have a nap then read.

missingmum · 28/07/2020 23:18

This is the perfect day and very similar to what I used to do once a week before lockdown on my day off work, can't recommend it enough 😀

Enjoy op I'm very very jealous!
