Facebook help please

I’m really new to it and can’t work out how this is happening but I’d quite like it to stop right now!

I’m in a group which I think must be ‘open’ & from this, ‘shared’ a post into what is definitely a ‘closed’ group.

A friend told me in a text today she had seen my post. I categorically know she isn’t in either of these groups.....so how has she seen it & how can I stop this?

Is she alerted by FB that I have posted? She refers to it as ‘my’ post so she must have seen it in the ‘closed’ group but she’s not in it!!?

Maybe you’ve accidentally shared on your wall rather than in the closed group. It wouldn’t inform her you had posted to a closed group if she’s not in that closed group.

Did you like or comment on the post before you shared it? She may have seen any response that you made on the open group.

Doesn't it say how many shares a post had had? So that would be on the original post

I always work on the premise that on Facebook, most of your friends will be able to see most of your posts one way or another, so don't post anything you don't want them to see.

Autumn, 4 shares but I’m the only one in this part of the world (literally) & the friend that saw it lives less than a mile away.

That’s ok, Blackberry, it wasn’t anything bad, thankyou and you’re right when you say that.

All of my settings are set to ‘friends only’ and I don’t even have a profile picture as I’m so concerned about security. I even looked into that thing recently where you lock everything down to stop the advertising companies tracking what you look at.
