If you’re furloughed or WFH - when are you expected back?

As the title. I’m so worried for my job, we’re crossing our fingers that when furlough ends things will pick up for us! So I’m curious, if you’re furloughed - when are you expected back?

Also if you’re currently working from home, when are you expected Back in the office?

Thanks x

My partner is WFH and will be until at least the new year and then WFH for at least 3 days a week from then on.

edwinbear · 27/07/2020 16:03

I'm currently WFH for a major bank. We've been told we'll be WFH for the rest of the year and it's unlikely we'll ever go back to being in the office on a FT basis. Probably be something like 2/3 days in the office and the rest WFH.

Allyg1185 · 27/07/2020 16:06

I'm still on furlough. My work has only recently opened back up again but on a skeleton staff and staff are being brought back slowly as we get busier. Don't know how long it will be before I'm back. Would think it will be by mid August. By that time I will have been off over 20 weeks

pinkcarpet · 27/07/2020 16:06

I'm wfh. Our office is due to reopen in September but with very limited capacity so I am not expecting to be back in much. Maybe once a week till Xmas but that depends on there being no new lockdown and public transport having sufficient capacity

daisypond · 27/07/2020 16:07

I’m wfh. Normally work in office. The office is now shut permanently and all staff have to work from home permanently.

TheSunIsStillShining · 27/07/2020 16:26

company hinted that now that the office refurbishment is finished we should be going back. I jokingly told my boss that if we needed to go back I quit. He didn't push it further. now. But he will in a few months time.
Ironically we don't actually do anything in the office as most of our colleagues and clients are overseas. So no real point but presenteeism...

samlh · 27/07/2020 16:40

I started WFH in March, I was back in the office last Monday for 2 weeks.

Next Monday I will WFH for 2 weeks and so on.

We can't have all of the team(s) back in the office at the same time so 2 x teams on a 2 x week rotation is the plan at the moment.

It's really nice to be back in the office and have people to speak to face to face :)

IsAnybodyListening · 27/07/2020 16:42

I also work for a bank, and have been WFH. It has been mentioned the earliest September, however there are no plans in place, as we are working successfully from home. My direct manager told me she thinks it will be 2021 we go back.

Dp is also WFH, and there are no plans for him to go back as yet.

Pandsbear · 27/07/2020 16:43

I am WFH - part time. Unlikely to be back in the (NHS) office for the forseeable future for the whole of my role. Might be back 1x day per week.

BikeRunSki · 27/07/2020 16:44

WFH - 6/12 months from now.

Kittytheteapot · 27/07/2020 16:44

I am still on furlough, if you can call it that now that my furlough payments have stopped. I have no idea when or if I will be asked back to work. I was only taken on just before lockdown, and it is obvious if there has to be any sort of job losses, it will be me. Last in, first out. Dh has lost his job as from September, so there is a real gloom hanging over us.

MildlyMiserable · 27/07/2020 16:48

Due to start back in September I’ll be WFH as I was (am) in the shielding category, days changed from 3 days a week to work hours over 5 days, boss likes the idea that if I’m stuck at home I can be on call 😤

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 27/07/2020 16:55

I'm not furloughed but covid put a halt to me actually starting my new job. I'm due to start on the 4th, but only part time for 3 days for a month. And most of that will be WFH. Bit peeved as I could have been WFH this entire time with a wage instead of overdrafts and credit cards.

DP is furloughed and has been told possibly september. But he is a shopfitter so their work has completely dried up. His boss is keeping them on furlough as long as possible.

SkyeIsPink · 27/07/2020 16:58

Everyone in my organisation already works remotely 😄

But I am on furlough. I just had confirmation that Im back at work from 1st September. I'm very excited!

Kittykatmacbill · 27/07/2020 16:59

WFH - hope to go back to full hours in september once the children are back (actually they are back in august but I think I could do with a little head space) and they are discussing going back to the office in October.

compulsivesnacker · 27/07/2020 17:00

Wfh. Possibly September for office but work for uni and no students on site until January so jury still out 🤷‍♀️

FrogFairy · 27/07/2020 17:05

WFH and currently no date to return to the office. Not been told officially but rumours that they will move to different premises.

BarbedBloom · 27/07/2020 17:10

I am not working at the moment for health reasons but my mum isn't going back. They have closed the office and everyone is working from home. They realised it was cheaper for them i think. Only sad thing is the receptionist and office manager are both being made redundant.

Similar for many of my friends. One friend has been told it will be 2021 before they reopen the office but it isn't likely they will ever be back there full time

dozzyf · 27/07/2020 17:14

Both continued to work,

i've been back in 1 day a wk for a fortnight but don't need to use public transport. Looking at usual 3 days from Sept.

DH big city firm, on a very very part time basis from Sept.

I found it good to go back & DH is missing is a bit.

dozzyf · 27/07/2020 17:17

I don't know anyone going back to full time office based.

Stillabitemo · 27/07/2020 17:17

Wfh until February at least and then possibly part time

DillonPanthersTexas · 27/07/2020 17:17

My US company sadly subscribes to the 'presenteeism' school of thought and want us back next week. There has been a collective 'fuck off' from staff.

Bellebelle · 27/07/2020 17:18

I work for a medium sized company, office is reopening in August but with much reduced capacity and I’m not in the group going back in (we’ve been given the choice and I’ve opted to keep WFH). We won’t all be back in the office until social distancing ends so who knows? DH works for a large financial services company and they’ve been told that they won’t be back until next year at the earliest and possibly won’t ever be back in full time

OllyBJolly · 27/07/2020 17:26

I have two employees still on furlough for childcare reasons. One of them can wfh, the other has to be office based (checking in stock, making up orders, testing kit).

If it hadn't been for the furlough scheme there's a fair chance I'd have had to let at least one of them go.

Poppyismyfavourite · 27/07/2020 17:28

I'm currently WFH but as I'm now pregnant and due in Feb I wonder if I'll go back at all...
We've been told WFH until at least the end of the year, at which point I'll be 35 weeks!
