so worried about my ds

so about 10 days ago my 21 y old DS came down with a virus like illness, temp etc (not covid was tested) which only lasted 1 or 2 days since then he has come out in ulcers/sores all over the back of his throat, inside his mouth and on his lips. the lip sores are now bleeding.

he has MH issues and will not go to the doctor. I persuaded him to have a video call with the gp but he would not show his face. gp prescribed antibiotics which haven't worked. the inside of the mouth appears a little better but the lips are still bleeding and are no better.

what could this be? i'm so worried.

Poor kid-sounds like a follow up call to docs. From a completely amateur view, I believe oral herpes can be triggered by being run down from a virus etc (though not sure if there also needs to be cold sore for that?). Hope it clears up for him soon.

He doesn't get cold sores so I dont think it can be that. He will not agree to call the GP back and GP will not speak to me about him because he is an adult. GP originally said probably just infected ulcers but couldn't really tell as ds wouldn't show him.

Would he consent to photos being taken of the ulcers?
