Shall I take up drinking coffee?

I don't drink hot drinks and my last foray into coffee was back in uni days. It then made me need the loo a lot and not just for a wee
But now other mum friends talk of coffee as if it is an elixir they cant live without. I am mostly exhausted so think I should start drinking it.
If you agree, pls add your suggestions as to what I should start with. I have a sweet tooth Blush

Too much caffeine makes me jittery and gives me palpatations, I have half a cup in the morning, milk no sugar. Won't have anymore then. It wakes me up but couldn't drink it all day.

I don’t drink tea or coffee and people say to me all the time, we will get you drinking them. I’m 36 why am I going to start now. Plus I see how reliant people are on having a coffee fix.

I only have decaff, use an aeropress and an electric milk frother. I find I can tolerate caffeine less and less as I get older, it makes me jittery. I drink instant at work but it's a totally different product.

Why not just drink decaf OP?

Spam I want coffee to wake me up a bit. Isnt that what it does and why people say they canf survive or start their morning without it?
So that's my draw

But OP, the reason people need their caffeine fix is that they are already hooked on it. It doesn't actually give you more energy or cure tiredness or lack of sleep.

Btw if you're used to cow's milk, I wouldn't go for Oatly. Like all other non-milks I've tried, it has a weird, sweetened taste. Even full fat cow's milk isn't very high in fat. Oatly Barista has 59 calories per 100ml,full fat cow's milk has 64 and semi skimmed 52.

Apparently there are studies that show caffeine only increases coffee-drinkers 'alertness' or whatever you want to call it to the normal level of non-coffee drinkers.

FWIW, I was on decaf for two years because of pregnancy and breastfeeding. Couldn't wait to get back on the real stuff and feel less tired. Made fuck all difference (except I pooed with more urgency).
