How can I deep clean my glass oven door?

And none of this bicarb and vinegar nonsense because it doesn't work! It's only been left a few months but is pretty mucky. No self-cleaning function unfortunately. Can I use oven pride on the glass? Is there some other secret method that doesn't involve me paying to get someone out? Thank you!

I just use a Brillo pad

Rebelwithallthecause · 26/07/2020 17:30

Vinegar and bicarbonate of soda

Rebelwithallthecause · 26/07/2020 17:30

Alternatively the oven cleaners

Rebelwithallthecause · 26/07/2020 17:31

As in the people who come and clean your oven for £40-50

PassingByAndThoughtIdDropIn · 26/07/2020 17:31

Some glass doors are detachable and can be soaked in the sink or Oven Prided. Check your manual.

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/07/2020 17:32

Mine came up nicely with the pink stuff. The creamy one in a pot and a lot of elbow grease

Kittytheteapot · 26/07/2020 17:32

They are usually detachable. I just unscrew mine, dunk it in the washing up bowl, and go for it with steel wool and a detergent of choice.

Scrub with a damp dishwasher tablet

TheQueef · 26/07/2020 17:33

Dishwasher tablets are supposed to be the dogs doodar. Never tried them o just never clean the oven.

CMOTDibbler · 26/07/2020 17:35

The dishwasher tablet trick is absolutely amazing. I've also used it on really, really manky saucepans (rescued from my parents house and originally v expensive - I wondered if I could save them to take camping) and they came up sparkling new in the end

ClariceBeanthatsme · 26/07/2020 17:36

I use a razor blade, the type get use in a stanley knife. Just push it across comes up perfect Smile

JonHammIsMyJamm · 26/07/2020 17:37

The dishwasher tablet ‘trick’ did diddly for me and just made a frustrating mess 🤷🏼‍♀️

otterbaby · 26/07/2020 17:38

@AnneLovesGilbert hadn't heard of that before but it gets good reviews on Amazon. Might try that!

A lot of votes for dishwasher tablets - I'll give that a go too! Thanks all.

Ours is absolutely horrific so I've used a mixture of dishwasher tablets, The Pink Stuff and a multipurpose kitchen cleaner. It's no where clear but better than it was so will need several attempts!

WelshMoth · 26/07/2020 17:41

The dishwasher tablet didn't work for me. Had to scrub in The same place for ages to make mm's worth of difference.

abstractzebra · 26/07/2020 17:41

Fairy Platinum, leave on for a few minutes and then scrub all over with wire wool and rinse off.
Cheap and easy 👍

AtTheWinchester · 26/07/2020 17:41

I got my oven a year ago and cleaned it for the first time a few months ago with Pink Stuff and it came up like new!
Fantastic stuff. Along with Elbow Grease spray. Both lifesaving cleaners.

fannyanney · 26/07/2020 17:42

When it's warm, scrub with a metal scourer and soapy water. Fairy liquid will be fine. Brings it up a treat

janetmendoza · 26/07/2020 17:54

razor blade - its changed my life!

Plurr · 26/07/2020 17:57

Another here who tried the dishwasher tablet and found it AMAZING!

Middleagedmidwife · 26/07/2020 17:59

Bold washing liquid, gets all the grease off! Leave it on for a bit ideally.
Alternatively use sugar soap, gets the racks really clean too

Tallace · 26/07/2020 18:00

Dishwasher tablet didnt work on mine.

longtompot · 26/07/2020 18:05

Lakeland's oven cleaner every time. No smell, takes off the baked on stuff.

lakesidesummer · 26/07/2020 18:08

Any degreaser with an oven scraper ( basically a razor blade with a different handle)

Parker231 · 26/07/2020 18:08

Koh cleaning product. Saw the reviews and got taken in by them but it does seem really good. One product for cleaning anything.
