Anyone else have a 13 year old, who just wants to lie in bed all day? He doesn't even wake up until about 2, then scrolls his phone, until 3.....I never thought I'd miss the early mornings, with a small child, but I do...

My ds is 12. He used to be an early riser and he would actually set an alarm on his phone to get up at 6am because he liked doing that, then he started sleeping through the alarm and pretty since turning 12(during lockdown) he sleeps till 12 in the afternoon every day.
It's normal though. I'm glad he is not getting up at 6am anymore!

My 12yr old ds sleeps in till 12 since lockdown too. Doesn't get to sleep till early hours despite being in his room from 10.30ish. All gone to pot since lockdown

Why are you letting them stay in bed so late? My 11 year old likes a lie in, but I go onto her bedroom and her her up if it's after 9.30/10am....

It's normal for children of that age for sleep pattern to change. Who am I to question nature and wake my dc up!

It is normal for teenagers. It is how their bodies work.

I wouldn't wake him up, unless we had plans. I guess he needs the sleep. September might be hard going though...
