I have a lot of photos of Dc etc. Most are post on Facebook 🙈 (account is locked down). But Iv just panicked that if I lose my account I would lose most of my pics!

I have hundreds. What do you do with them?

I make a yearly photobook!

longtompot · 26/07/2020 10:20

Whilst looking at my fb settings, I did see a tab for downloading all your photos, but didn't go into it to see where they could be downloaded to. My friend has recently deactivated her account and downloaded all her photos.

I actually print out my favourites & put them in photo albums!
I store the rest on the iCloud.

Twospaniels · 26/07/2020 11:55

I get photobooks made using Printastic app.

I usually do this after each holiday, so have lots of random pics that don’t fit anywhere partic. Maybe I’ll get them made into a book for the year they relate to.

Photo books are a good idea but can get expensive if you need to catch up on years worth of photos at once.

I download mine and store them on the computer. We also have an external hard drive which acts as a back up. We also use Google photos as a kind of third back up.

I get them printed out and put them in photo albums.

The photobooks I was looking at were a bit pricey.

Commentutappelles · 26/07/2020 12:10

Started deleting them. One of child in blue top on beach, fine. 27 of child in blue top on beach, no need. I choose my favourite, delete the rest, get some printed out and display them, I make photo albums. By the time dc was 10, I had over 1000 photos of her which was pointless as the only person who cares about looking at them is me - when I'm dead, she wont sift through endless photos of herself, so am much more ruthless with them now and take far fewer.

Save them all on hard drives then print them for albums later on. After a house fire and losing irreplaceable photos I make sure I have saved copies as well as physical copies just incase.

Ohsuchaperfectday · 26/07/2020 13:57

Printer pix always have photo book offers on Groupon.

Love them, easy to use, about 12 pounds for 100 pages...

BarbedBloom · 26/07/2020 14:30

I have mine backed up on a removable hard drive plus I make photo books, either by year or event

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 26/07/2020 14:32

Google Photos. It's great for searching by location, person, type of photo. Dead easy to find old photos just with a quick search. I've got everything on there (and double backed up to an external hard drive as well)

SimonJT · 26/07/2020 14:36

I make a yearly photo book, if we’ve had a big holiday I make a specific book for that, I also print some out to go in my sons life story book.

No facebook here, but I store photos I want to keep on the cloud.

SallyWD · 26/07/2020 14:44

Google photos. I can log on and see all my photos from all my devices. It's amazing. Also means you can delete photos from your phone abd free up storage space.

BackforGood · 26/07/2020 15:07

I save a lot onto my laptop, all ordered in folders so I can find them - this is particularly useful when you need embarrassing photos for 18th Birthdays, etc Wink
I also print some out every now and then and put them in albums. I think it is sad that, as technology evolves, people won't have photos of their childhood to look back through.

Juiceey · 26/07/2020 16:46

My lockdown project was to make photo albums! I printed almost 1000 pics (seriously) and now have them in albums. I used the FreePrints app.

My plan is every six months to print out the photos from my phone and just keep adding to them.
