I have just started renting a tiny cottage and want to create a a traditional cottage look but am obviously limited to some extent as I am only a tenant. So can you clever people suggest some cheap and easy things i can do to achieve this. Any links would be great as well.

Paint the walls, kitchen cupboards and wallpaper (with LL permission), fablon or d c fix sticky plastic for tiles and floors (they are removable) they do some lovely vintage prints.

I’d spend on soft furnishings like blankets, cushions for the living room, little curtains that match your chosen colour scheme but perhaps with patterns eg checks / stripes / floral. Lamps are inexpensive and really make a room cosy in the evenings. Garden cut flowers in glass jars. If you’re in need of new crockery, then there are definitely some cottage-friendly styles available. Hang some pictures / floral prints / pressed flowers, dry some bunches of lavender / herbs in the kitchen. Tinkly bell on the door! Small pot plants on the sills. It can be a few decorative touches here and there, or it could turn into a full-on project... either way, have fun in the Cottage!
