Does anyone on here not like this song?

George Ezra - shotgun

Whenever it comes on the radio it instantly cheers me up. I could be feeling really down about something but that song really lifts my mood.

Curious to know if anyone here doesn't like the song.

Me!!!! I HATE that song and have to turn it off if it comes on the radio.

Stupid repetitive lyrics.
Over played when it came out.
Monotone

The only 2 songs I hate more than that are the one that goes “why you gotta be so rude, I’m gonna marry her anyway”
And
“There’s no place I’d rather be” Jess Glynne.

YAK YAK YAK

NameChange84 · 25/07/2020 08:47

Can not STAND it. Not just saying to be difficult. I just think it’s a stupid song and overrated. I’ve never met a kid who wasn’t obsessed with it though lol

P0lka · 25/07/2020 08:47

I also hate it - and every other song he does. I hate his voice!

wigglycactus · 25/07/2020 08:47

Really, really intensely dislike that song. My children love it and turn it right up when it's on the radio - I have to leave the room!

Mamette · 25/07/2020 08:50

My 5yo adores that song and always has. So it makes me happy that it makes him happy.

Obviouspretzel · 25/07/2020 08:51

Oh God it's awful.

MaryHeck · 25/07/2020 08:51

Sorry - hate it. Can’t stand George Ezra in general.

carpetshagger · 25/07/2020 08:52

I cannot bear his voice, it gives me the absolute heebie jeebies and makes me shudder. Can't explain it!

alicequartz · 25/07/2020 08:54

Wow there are some strong dislikes of the song.

My children absolutely love it too.

Merename · 25/07/2020 08:55

Can’t say I’ve ever heard it that I know of!

Hiccupiscal · 25/07/2020 09:00

Urgh its horrible

And my DC LOVES the bloody song. He's always putting it on, turning it up, asking for it.

I'm disappointed with his musical taste...

Until he requests queen or Mj and then I have a little bit of hope again Grin

NameChange84 · 25/07/2020 09:03

See that’s the thing I do hate the song but I love to see a little toddler doing the knee dip and bum wiggle when the song comes on or an older child running round squealing because it’s on - so that makes me happy to see little ones so overjoyed...but me personally, I really, really dislike the damn song and try and block it out lol.

rachelb76 · 25/07/2020 09:04

Can't bear it! Mostly because if heard once my husband will sing it on repeat for at least the next 6 weeks, with incorrect lyrics and crappy dance moves in some kind of faux seduction because he knows it pisses me off so much. 😂

TinyMetalBirds · 25/07/2020 09:04

Well I like it OP! Can’t say I would want to listen to it on repeat but it does cheer me up when it comes on the radio.

Smoothyloopy · 25/07/2020 09:06

I love it, makes me smile :)

RosieLemonade · 25/07/2020 09:14

I don’t mind it. A few years ago it was the only song my class liked/knew so they always sang it and it was played as we went into assembly, at discos, if we had a musician in. I got really bored of it. But it’s ok out of that context.

AuntieMarys · 25/07/2020 10:10

I love George Ezra.

Kathulu · 25/07/2020 10:37

I LOATHE him, his awful monotone voice, his godawful songs. Instant turn off. My hatred of his voice is only superseded by Jess Glynn and her screaming goat singing - ugh!!

BananaPop2020 · 25/07/2020 10:57

I honestly find Jess Glynn uncomfortable to listen to, she screeches rather than sings. That bloody holiday advert is the worst.

vampirethriller · 25/07/2020 11:06

I don't like it. Repetitive and tuneless.

MrsMariaReynolds · 25/07/2020 11:12

Gah! No! In fact, nearly every George Ezra song makes my ears scream, but Shotgun is the worst.

TheFluffiestCat · 25/07/2020 11:19

It reminds me of Joe Wicks and his endless enthusiasm. I wouldn't select it on Spotify but it makes me smile if I hear it out and about.

WildRosie · 25/07/2020 11:19

I don't know any George Ezra songs. Judging by the replies hitherto, I've not missed anything.

Sunshineonrainydays · 25/07/2020 11:20

It’s okay but it has been overplayed to the point of making me sigh when I hear it now!

dayswithaY · 25/07/2020 11:22

I hate it! It's the bouncy, repetitive, shouty nature of it. Some songs make me recoil in horror like this one and also Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader (I think).
