What does this rash look like?

Hi DS 9mo has developed a rash this morning.

He was incredibly irritable and quite warm, calpol given and I put it down to teething (until I noticed the rash)

Phoned 111, waiting for a call back since 10am

DS has been napping for two hours, he's been fine in himself after the calpol kicked in.

He does have eczema which is mostly on his legs, so I don't think it's eczema.

The rash is on his stomach, neck and back (pics should be attached)

I know we're not doctors, I have sought medical help I just want some ideas or reassurance, I don't even know what I want really. I'm new to all this and anxious

Looks like a non specific fever-related or viral rash.

What is his temperature?

NC4Now · 24/07/2020 13:12

Looks like a viral rash to me. My boys used to get them when they were poorly, and it would fit with him having a temp.

Just check it fades under a glass though, to be on the safe side.

Just did the glass check and it fades under the glass, he's awake now the rash is still there but he seems okay in himself other than a dry nappy since 10am which is unusual for him

I'd have said viral rash, nothing to worry about. Could be eczema, but seems to have come on a bit suddenly for that.

Another vote for viral rash here too

passthemustard · 24/07/2020 16:41

Looks like heat rash maybe. My DC used to come up like this in warm weather.

GrumpyInTheMornin · 24/07/2020 16:53

I'd say viral rash. Could be eczema though. Whatever cream you're using for his legs, pop on his rash and see if that improves
