Leicester residents! Have you had to cancel your holidays??

During the lockdown have you had to cancel trips abroad or weekends away? Are you allowed to travel, and if not how is it policed?

My area is at risk of lockdown, I have a holiday booked in August which has been pushed back twice already, I've worked non-stop since March and I am desperate to get away.

Logically I think I know the answer but I'm resigning myself to there being no respite from this shit show of a year

It has not been policed at all. On the first day they set up a few checkpoints in major gains into the city, made sure the press were there and it got in the news. Other than they have done nothing.

I’ve been down to Salisbury and anywhere else I wanted and not been stopped.

I should point out I am across the other side of the city to wear all the cases actually are but I think they didn’t dare just lock those areas down in case they got accused of racism so just shut every down.

To answer your questions re hols.

A large chain was cancelling all Leicestershire bookings regardless of whether or not they were in the lockdown area.

Hmm. The flights were booked by someone with an address outside the area, and the hotel is booked on booking.com..

I'm also on the very outer edge of the borough, half a mile and its another county, the problem is in the built up town it's so unfair

We had to cancel ours in April but have now rebooked for September. We have also been anywhere we want. We are on the very edge of the lock down zone and there are less cases than other areas not in lock down do it just makes no sense. We are taking all precautions so that's that really.
